How can you best use social media to your advantage? Come along to an information session focussing on LinkedIn, on Thursday 17 July 2014, 12-1 pm, with Q&A for AMREP based postgraduate students and early-mid career researchers, presented by Monash University's Senior Social
Media Strategist, Samantha Blair (pictured) and CCS's Communications and Marketing Manager, Julia Veitch.
LinkedIn has long been around as a professional networking social media channel. Now, more than ever before, it is actively being used by business, industry, research and education sectors to find employees, connect people for industry and higher education opportunities and to promote business.
In this session, Sam will provide a general overview of the channel, walking you through the different components of LinkedIn and will explore ways to develop your LinkedIn profile and connect with like-minded research professionals. This session is best suited to first time LinkedIn users or those who may have set up an account but not yet engaged.
Target audience: Honours, graduate students and early career researchers
