Congratulations to Associate Professor Judy de Haan on Baker Fellowship

Congratulations to Associate Professor Judy de Haan who has been awarded a five-year Baker Fellowship (2017-2022) by the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, where she leads the Oxidative Stress Laboratory.

The Fellowship will enable Associate Professor de Haan to continue her work on diabetic cardiovascular complications.

“My research interests lie in novel approaches to limit oxidative stress and inflammation with an emphasis on host antioxidant defence pathways,” Associate Professor de Haan said. “This fellowship enables me to continue my close relationship with the Department of Diabetes at CCS where I hold an Honorary position.”

Monash University's 3rd annual Translational Research Symposium is being hosted by its three metropolitan clinical schools on 31 July 2017. The symposium will host a diverse group of medical researchers presenting their work into translational research. RSVP here.

Professor Melissa Southey specialises in genetic and epigenetic factors which are responsible for cancer predisposition. Prof Southey is based at Monash Health and is the head of the Southey Laboratory at the University of Melbourne.
