Matt Snelson (Diabetes PhD student) and Daniel So (Gastroenterology PhD student) won oral presentation prizes - second and equal third place respectively. Their talks were titled:
- Resistant starch is protective against diabetic nephropathy by inhibition of complement activation in a mouse model of diabetes (Snelson)
- Characterisation of fibres using a rapid in vitro fermentation model (So)
Associate Professor Melinda Coughlan (Diabetes) won a Mid-Career Research Award and recent PhD graduate Dr CK Yao (Gastroenterology) an Early-Career Travel Grant.
