L-R: A/Prof Justin Hamilton with his PhD student at the time, Shauna French, who is now at Harvard Medical School; A/Prof Nigel Jones with his current PhD student Flavia Gomes; Prof Nicola Harris who became one of CCS's graduate research coordinators in November 2018. |
Congratulations to Associate Professor Justin Hamilton on his new adventure as CSL's Director of In vivo Biology. We will all miss you! Professor Terry O'Brien, Head of School, writes:
"It is with mixed feelings that I can inform you that A/Prof. Justin Hamilton has announced that he will be resigning from his academic staff position at the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases (ACBD) to take up a major leadership role in Industry in 2021. While this will be a huge loss for the school, we are pleased for Justin on his exciting appointment and wish him all the best in his new position.
"On behalf of the School, I extend my most deep thanks to Justin for the outstanding contribution he has made to the school: as a leading research leader in ACBD, as a Honours coordinator for the School for many years, and most recently as one of our Graduate Research (GR) Coordinators. We are delighted that Justin has agreed to remain a member of ACBD and the school as an adjunct from next year, and continue to be involved in the research on thrombosis.
"I am pleased to announce that A/Prof. Nigel Jones has been appointed to take over from Justin as one of our two CCS GR Coordinators, along with Prof. Nicola Harris. Nigel is a neuroscientist and a highly experienced, successful RHD supervisor, and I have no doubt he will do an outstanding job in this important leadership role for our school. Congratulations Nigel on your appointment."
