Prof Velandai Srikanth to be new director of the National Centre for Healthy Ageing

Congratulations to Professor Velandai Srikanth, who will be commencing as the Director of the National Centre for Healthy Ageing (NCHA) from 1 January 2022. The NCHA is a joint venture between Peninsula Health and Monash University, which aims to create an academic and research hub for leading the transformation of health care for our ageing population.

Professor Srikanth has been seconded to the position of Director from his clinical director role, for two years, to steer the strategic development of the centre.  He will continue to lead the Professorial Academic Unit, Central Clinical School, based at Frankston Hospital and hold the title of Research Director, Peninsula Health during this time.

Rami Kamel, who has worked with the NCHA for the past 18 months, will continue to concentrate on the operations of the centre as the NCHA Chief Operating Officer.
