A/Prof David Brewster

Welcome to A/Prof David Brewster to the Central Clinical School (CCS) Medical Student Education team as the new Clinical Dean at Cabrini Health.

David is a dual trained clinician in both Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine.  David is well known at Cabrini as he is the current Deputy Director of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Supervisor of Medical Education in Intensive Care as well as a practising anaesthetist.  He is engaged in research in medical education having completed a graduate certificate in health professional education and is currently completing a PhD in the field of medical education with Professor Charlotte Rees.


David graduated from Monash University and has worked within many of its teaching hospitals.  He has been the supervisor for Year 3B and 5D students within ICU at Cabrini Health and previously co-ordinated the Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaching at School of Clinical Sciences. David has developed and implemented many medical educational activities including the "Beyond BASIC: Airway Management" course in 2013, which has trained over 500 doctors in 6 countries.
