Bionic limbs and osseointegration forum at the Alfred - all welcome

The Alfred-Monash forum on bionic limbs and osseointegration
is being held 3 pm Friday 27 April. All welcome, RSVP.

The OI / TMR team have helped pioneer this revolutionary technique which enables amputees to gain better and more natural control of their prosthetic arms. They have developed strong links and collaborations with leading technology developers and centres around the world – Dr Max Ortiz Catalán, Chalmers University, Gothenburg, Sweden; Dr Todd Kuiken, The Rehabilitation Institute in Chicago; Prof Branemark of Sweden / USA the pioneering developer of the OI OPRA system by Integrum AB Sweden. Prof Branemark now lives in the US in San Francisco leading the clinical application from UCSF University of California San Francisco. The OPRA system is the only US FDA approved OI system for amputees and is now being clinically applied in ten countries across the world.

This event is co–hosted by the Plastic Surgery Unit at the Alfred Hospital  and the Department of Surgery, Central Clinical School , Monash University, Alfred Hospital
