Dr Pablo Casillas-Espinosa was awarded the 2018 Suzanne and Peter Berry International Travel Award, whilst Dr Rhys Brady received the 2018 Young Investigator Award.
The 2018 Suzanne and Peter Berry International Travel Award recognises and honours two young investigators conducting clinical neuroscience research related to epilepsy in Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, or Latin America.
Dr Casillas-Espinosa's research, “Telomere length is reduced in rats with chronic temporal lobe epilepsy, and this is mitigated by treatment with the antiepileptogenic drug sodium selenate”, was selected from over 1,300 submissions for this honour.

The 2018 Young Investigator Award recognises 20 young investigators conducting basic, translational, or clinical epilepsy research. Dr Rhys Brady's research, “Bone health in rats with chronic temporal lobe epilepsy", was selected from over 1,300 submissions for this honour.
