"I would like to congratulate Ange, Amy and Lakshanie on their achievements in the Oral Presentation category at the CCS GR Symposium. Their success reflects their hard work and skill in describing complex concepts and experimental approaches to a multi-disciplinary audience that might otherwise have been focussed on morning or afternoon tea.
"I also note the achievement of Mark Wright in describing his work without using any scientific words (I am wondering how much of a positive this is) and ask you to join me in passing on commiserations to Ben Marsland for, presumably, just getting pipped at the post on the Explain my Graph category, despite a surprisingly insightful discussion of the relationship between dog behaviour, owner obesity and competitiveness of national rugby union teams.
"Lastly, I want to thank all those who helped in putting this together, particularly the students and even more especially the students on the committee. A great job."
