Michael Cangkrama's research looks at skin development and diseases. Volunteers are required for a study investigating the use of a new Resistant Starch product that may be used to help increase levels of Resistant Starch in Australian foods. Resistant Starch is thought to have a wide range of health benefits in humans.

Seminar Series: Issues in Research Translation Science

What the seminar series is about
Currently, clinical practitioners' uptake of best evidence from research is patchy. Global evidence of failure to translate research findings into clinical practice suggests that acting on research findings is a fundamental challenge for healthcare systems to optimise care, outcomes and costs. Research translation science (also known as implementation science and knowledge translation science) is a relatively new field of health services research. It is the scientific study of the determinants, processes and outcomes of research translation in order to develop a generalisable empirical and theoretical basis to optimise implementation activities. NTRI and the Australasian Cochrane Centre are co-hosting visiting academic Jeremy Grimshaw, who will provide a personal perspective about the scope of research translation science and key challenges facing the field at present. Professor Susan Rossell receives Swinburne University's VC Award for Research Excellence in 2013

Professor Susan Rossell was awarded Swinburne University's Vice Chancellors Award for Research Excellence in 2013, at an award ceremony held on 11th Dec 2013. Susan's award was to acknowledge her outstanding contribution to the understanding of the neurobiology of auditory hallucinations. Susan is the Deputy Director of Brain and Psychological Sciences Research Centre at Swinburne University and has an Honorary Professorial Fellowship at Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre.
