Coronavirus risk reduction DHHS updates, guidelines and channels


The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is continuously updating a coronavirus news web page, including links to resources for the public, health professionals, media and promotional material such as printable posters, examples of social media messages, links to videos etc. They also list all their channels to follow for updates. Monash University researchers have revealed a novel therapy that corrects the mechanism in the body that's gone wrong in Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), the condition affecting the former lead singer of The Wiggles.

Central Clinical School (CCS) researchers led by Professor Sam El-Osta found how genes that protect against POTS become silent or ‘switched off’ – and identified a drug to switch them on again.

I would like to encourage everyone to attend the monthly Neurology & Neurosurgery meeting this Monday 2 March (12noon - 1pm) which will be provided as part of the Departmental Seminar Series. Professor Geoff Cloud will present about 'Managing Spontaneous Intracerebral Haemorrhage the Alfred Brain way' in the Bernard Gillian Seminar Room (Centre Block, Level 4, Alfred Hospital).
