Monash Bioinformatics Platform at CCS

The Monash Bioinformatics Platform (MBP) have a team member based within the Central Clinical School, Dr Nick Wong. The MBP is a multi-disciplinary team that exists to facilitate researchers in all things bioinformatics.

This also includes offering training workshops in bioinformatics tools including R. An Intro to R workshop to be held on October 19 at the Alfred Centre was filled shortly after it's announcement and with a substantial waiting list means Nick will be organising more in the near future. An Alfred/CCS mailing list is being set up for such announcements, at this stage please email Nick to be added onto it.

Another remit of the MBP is building a community around bioinformatics practitioners. We have set up a link with Clayton with regular informal seminars on Wednesdays at 2:30pm. A video link to Clayton is available in Boardroom 1 at Level 5 Alfred Centre. This venue may change and details will be posted through the mailing list.

For all your bioinformatics queries Nick is available and can meet to discuss. It is strongly encouraged that discussion of projects and planning of experiments be made as early as possible to avoid potential frustrations when the data arrives.
