Participants sought: Therapeutic use of transcranial Alternative Current Stimulation for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Participants sought for study using transcranial Alternating Current
Stimulation (tACS) for
obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
The Epworth Centre for Innovation in Mental Health is seeking volunteers between the ages of 18 and 65 with either no history of mental health conditions OR a diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) to help us investigate whether a novel brain stimulation method called transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation (tACS) can be used to treat OCD.

Participation as a healthy control will involve visiting Epworth HealthCare, Camberwell for one EEG session and no treatments will be administered. EEG is a non-invasive, safe procedure that is used to capture brain waves. You will be reimbursed $50 for your time and travel costs.

Participation as an individual with a diagnosis of OCD will involve two EEG sessions that are 6 weeks apart and at-home tACS treatments for the duration in-between these sessions. Stimulation with tACS is safe, pain-free and administered via a handheld, battery-driven, portable device. You will be reimbursed $40 for each EEG session.
