More about the research program
Professor Srikanth’s program of research spans several aspects of healthy ageing. His primary interest is in the study of risk factors and mechanisms underlying dementia, particularly with respect to vascular and metabolic health. He has led the field internationally in studying the impact of brain ageing on walking and the risk of falls, and the link between brain ageing, gait and the risk of dementia. He is now working to understand the impact of health at earlier stages of life on the future risk of dementia, and how this risk may be different between men and women.
