Prof Paul Myles receives award from Liverpool Society of Anaesthetists

Congratulations to Professor Paul Myles who was invited to give the prestigious biennial T. Cecil Gray BJA lecture by the Liverpool Society of Anaesthetists. His lecture topic was 'Defining and Measuring the Quality of Recovery after Surgery'.

Prof Myles said, "It was an honour to be invited to give this lecture, and I guess I was being acknowledged for my role in large clinical trials and outcomes research in anaesthesia."

BGRF honours humble giant of neuroscience, Professor Elsdon Storey AM

The 2022 Bethlehem Griffiths Research Foundation medal has been awarded to Professor Elsdon Storey AM, a giant of neuroscience and an international research visionary and clinician, at a ceremony last week.  The many dignitaries and colleagues present had one thing in common, a deep respect for a humble but deeply gifted man who led with integrity, compassion and intellectual rigour.

Congratulations to Maria Selvadurai on THANZ medal win!

Congratulations to Maria Selvadurai, winner of the 2018 Thrombosis and Haemostasis society of Australia and New Zealand (THANZ) medal! Maria earned the medal for the best presentation at the #blood18 meeting in the THANZ stream. A fantastic reward for some great work well presented! Her presentation title was "Targeting the platelet internal membrane reveals a novel approach for improved anti-platelet therapies". Maria is a PhD student in Associate Professor Justin Hamilton's lab.
