Thanks to our wonderful COYS volunteers: see the schedule here. Image: Shutterstock |
Dear colleagues and extended Monash community,
As we know, those juggling professional commitments are perhaps the most impacted by extended lockdowns. Our early career colleagues and graduate students are disproportionately affected - most profoundly those with children in prep - grade 2.
Many thanks to those of you who have volunteered to run sessions for children of home-schooling parents :) as part of our weekly Creativity for Our Youngest Students (COYS) sessions. These are interactive Zoom sessions pitched at age group 5-7 (though children of any age are welcome to join the fun). The spring-time sessions will begin on Wednesday 1 September at 1pm (~1hr), and continue weekly at the same time until summer. See the schedule here.
If you have young children who might enjoy these creativity sessions then take a look at the attached schedule of activities which includes storytime, craft activities, mad scientist activities, dance/movement, learning about animals etc. Parents are welcome to join of course but the activities are designed so that your supervision is not required.
Just jump on the weekly Zoom link below. Feel free to share the link with other parents of little children you think may be interested.
