Imaging competition winners announced!

The 2021 Monash Biomedical Imaging (MBI) image competition celebrated outstanding scanner images obtained at MBI and Alfred Research Alliance – Monash Biomedical Imaging (ARA-MBI).

Congratulations to the winners: Ms Jennifer Tinston (PhD student in the Epilepsy and Behaviour group, Department of Neuroscience), Ms Jurie Tashkandi (PhD student in the Nanotheranostics group in the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases), Dr Bianca Jupp, Dr Karen Alt and Dr Chao Suo

Grants available for use of ARA-MBI facility

The ARA-MBI facility team is running a small user grant scheme for use of the ARA-MBI facility. They will be giving out up to 12 grants - applications close 23 April.

Dr Robert Brkljača writes:

I am pleased to announce the release of the 2021 MBI / ARA-MBI User Access Scheme, which is designed to promote, facilitate and support high quality research involving the use of the imaging services and expertise. The scheme is open to all Monash University and Baker researchers, and aims to:

Expanded capabilities for ARA-MBI's PET/CT preclinical studies


In 2019 the Alfred Research Alliance Monash BioImaging (ARA-MBI) Preclinical Imaging Facility commenced operations with a PET/CT system, and has recently expanded its capabilities.

Three-dimensional imaging of the mouse lung plays an important role in preclinical research to better understand injury extent and recovery especially of respiratory viruses such as SARS-COV-1 and -2.
