Magnetic Particle Imaging wins award

Jurie Tashkandi won best oral presentation award in Prato
Congratulations to Ms Jurie Tashkandi, PhD student supervised by Dr Karen Alt in the NanoTheranostics lab, who won the best oral presentation award at the international 'Antibody Technology and Therapeutics' Conference in Prato, Italy in September 2022.

The title of her presentation was "Magnetic Particle Imaging using Trastuzumab Targeted Nanoparticles for Cancer Imaging".

Monash CCS inaugural Student Careers Expo

The CCS careers expo was well attended and students were very
positive about the experience.

The CCS Graduate Research Student Committee (CGRSC), in collaboration with the Monash Graduate Association (MGA), hosted the Monash CCS inaugural Careers Expo in the Alfred Innovation & Education Hub last Thursday, 4 August 2022. Over 30 exhibitors from 20 unique departments and organisations were in attendance. This included representatives from Pearson Clinical Assessment, CSIRO, CSL, Cell Therapies, E&Y and Deloitte, just to name a few.

The International Day of Immunology is celebrated every year on 29 April. The Australian and New Zealand Society for Immunology (ASI) organises a number of events to coincide with this day. In Victoria and Tasmania, our events included a public lecture, research institute discovery tours, science in the pub, and secondary school student workshops and careers sessions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the first year since 2019 that many of these events have been held.

The 2021 Monash Biomedical Imaging (MBI) image competition celebrated outstanding scanner images obtained at MBI and Alfred Research Alliance – Monash Biomedical Imaging (ARA-MBI).
